'Doomsday preppers' and Covid19

"Doomsday preppers" and covid19

My 10-year-old son is like his dad always building, inventing and improvising stuff. Which reminds me of a TV program, more like series I watched sometime between 2011- 2014 on DSTV called "Doomsday Preppers". The title was so intriguing to me that I decided to keep up with the series.
It was about this group of people across America who believed that it was extremely important to be self-reliant and independent to survive the possibility of natural disasters or war in the nearest future, so they were preparing massively for it. In preparation, they had grown their own food crops and vegetables and built long term food storage facilities.
In 2012, Reuters photographers visited the homes of several doomsday preppers across America and made the same intriguing
discoveries.(www.businessinsider.com)
They were people who believed that someday or years to come the world will be in some form of crisis. So they had been storing food, medical materials etc. Some had even built underground bunkers to hide at such terrible times to come.
Wow! Such occurrences looked impossible then but now it looks like we are in such season. Earlier in the year after the pandemic broke out, few preppers shared some coping tips on various  Youtube channels.
The only difference is that no amount of physical preparedness could have covered for the socio-economic and psychological/traumatic effect of this season.
For those of us that are Christians, this is the time to cling to the word of God and reconnect with the Holy Spirit to help us with coping strategies. In as much as we all tend to stay positive and hopefully we will, there are those times when  'that' sense of hopelessness and grief will set in.
The only way forward to gain earthly peace is to hide in the secret place of the highest God. (Psalm 91). He will see us through. Amen and amen.
You may want to follow TomiArayomi on Youtube. He has been dishing out some prophetic words of encouragement in this season. We shall overcome somedayπŸ€—.
When our understanding runs out in times like this we give room for God's grace and mercy to take over and carry us over.
 Stay focused.
