The uncertainty of life: Lessons from the Choluteca bridge

Have you heard of Choluteca bridge known as the "Bridge of the Rising Sun" in Honduras in Central America? It was built between 1996-1998 to connect to a new bypass road across a river. It was built very rigid because of the extremely harsh weather conditions and hurricanes in the area.
The bridge was built by a Japanese firm using state of the art equipment and technological innovations.
Ironically, after being struck by Hurricane Mitch in the same year in which it was commissioned,  the roads connected to the bridge were washed away, and the river eventually changed course months after forming a new channel beside the bridge, rendering the bridge redundant and not fit for the purpose for which it was created.
Consequently, the multi-million dollar bridge became a bridge leading nowhere!
The lesson here is that nature can not be subdued using technological skills and human intelligence; we cannot control what we didn't create especially weather events, as there would be consequences.
The uncertainty of life continues to challenge our high level of technological breakthroughs.

Just as this year 2020 has depicted, life's circumstances can make the best well thought out plans become useless and completely stalled. This year is suggesting the need to be malleable and move with life so that one, with all the excellence in skill, etc would not become irrelevant because of being immovable or unyielding in the face of inevitable change.
There will always be a need to change course/make adjustments to regain focus and keep up with the survival instinct.

We will survive this year 2020 and beyond 🤗👈
